It is truly unbelievable that any responsible lawmaker would spend time considering legislation to end the practice of describing illegal aliens as illegal aliens. The clear goal here is to work toward the end that âwe are all just people, so why do we need terms â or immigration laws at all?â
âIllegalâ has a meaning in the English language as does âalienâ in American immigration law. The argument that use of the legal and accurate term to describe illegal aliens somehow âdehumanizes themâ and we should stop using it is not the end of the discussion, it is the beginning.
Here in Georgia, where we are home to more illegal aliens than green card holders, we see the same politically motivated attempt to change the language to alter the perception of immigration enforcement.
Remembering that official open borders is the end game, it can only be a matter of time before the corporate-funded anti-borders mob presses for another term: âvictims of borders.â
Why not just do it now to save the goofy debates in your capitol and on your opinion pages?

PLEASE CALL NOW?
Speaker David Ralston
HB1083 was on its way to a “do pass” vote in the GOP-controlled House Judiciary non-civil committee last week when it was suddenly tabled. The reason is a (partial) mystery, but what we do know is that the illegal alien lobby, including the hate-mongering SPLC, is very busy organizing phone calls to Republican Speaker David Ralston’s office to kill the bill.
The phone line has voice mail. Please call today and Monday and please share this note? It is good to call more than once. Time is running out. “Cross over day” is Thursday.
Remember when candidate Brian Kemp promised to end sanctuary city policies? Us too.

Letters to the editor
One of the reasons Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp edged out former Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle during the Republican primary runoff election in 2018 was because of his strong stance in enforcing immigration laws, which resulted in President Trumpâs endorsement.
Gov. Kemp has done a fine job providing strong leadership in passing the âheartbeatâ bill last year and fulfilling his promise to teachers. However, he has neglected one of his key campaign promises so far – strengthening and enforcement of laws in dealing with criminal illegal aliens in the state.
Excellent legislative bills were introduced last year and this year, but they are not getting any support from Gov. Kemp or our leadership in the General Assembly.
I canât help but notice that too many of our elected representatives ignore their constituents and seem beholden to lobbying efforts of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and large corporations that demand cheap labor, or other groups that advocate for amnesty for illegals aliens ito appease a corrupt Democratic Party that exploits illegals to create a permanent underclass voting base. All of this puts law-abiding Americansâ safety and lives at risk.
Most people feel that we do not have a voice in the political process – that we canât compete with huge campaign donations from corporations, unions and political action committees. We do and we can. We have the ultimate power with our individual votes.
Please contact the governorâs office and your state representatives and ask them to support the House Bill 915 – the Georgia Anti-Sanctuary Act.

BOLO: Be On the Lookout for state legislation to reward illegal aliens with Instate Tuition

Currently, there are three bills in the Georgia General Assembly that will legislate in-state tuition for illegal aliens.
HB997: Georgia Resident In-State Tuition Act is co-sponsored by three Democrats and two Republicans (CantrellâWoodstock and BonnerâFayetteville) Grants in-state tuition to illegal aliens who have:
Graduated from a Georgia high school or obtained a GED
Been in the state of Georgia for four years prior to the first day of classes for the term
Been physically present in the US since on or before his/her 12th birthday
Is less than 30 years old at the time of enrollment
HB920 is sponsored by David Clark (R-Buford); there are no co-sponsors. HB 920 will grant in-state tuition to âundocumentedâ students (it directly outlines it in the bill) who:
Attended a secondary school in Georgia for three years immediately before graduating from a Georgia high school
Applied for enrollment in a postsecondary education institution in Georgia within 24 months after high school graduation
Submitted to the postsecondary educational institution an official transcript verifying such studentâs attendance record and graduation from a high school in Georgia
What does this mean? President Trump issued a statement to end public benefits to those who desire to immigrate to our country. Three Georgia Republicans work to issue public benefits to those in our country illegally. When these Republicans say they support the Presidentâs agenda, ask them the following questions:
Why do illegal aliens in Georgia get in-state tuition when legal citizens from other states must pay the higher tuition rate?
Why are they giving public benefits to illegal aliens when the President directly opposes it?
HB896 is sponsored by all Democrats and will grant in-state tuition for college, university, or technical school students who:
Attended a Georgia high school for three or more years
Obtained a diploma or GED
Registered as a student or is a student at an institution of higher education on or after July 1, 2021
Has filed or will file an affidavit that s/he will file an application to legalize his/her immigration status
None of this information will be disclosed to any local, state, or federal agency, including law enforcement agencies.
What does this mean? They will confiscate your tax dollars for illegal aliens, not give you an accounting for it, and not share it to keep our community safe.

*UPDATE â 8:50 PM. I  was informed about 5:30 this evening that although it wasnât on the Rules calendar, while I was writing the below column, House leadership put the HB444 bill on members desks and held a surprise vote today. This was done because we were shining way to much light on the DE program and the bill. Too many House Reps were starting to ask questions. They voted about 12:30-ish I am told. The bill passed (they agreed to senate version).
Never let it be said that Gov Kemp and Speaker Ralston wonât work together.
âThey shoved it down our throats. If I had known all this, I never would have voted to agreeâ one GOP Rep told me this evening.Â

Spoiler alert to this post: While it is billed as a way to produce a more educated workforce, the Georgia dual enrollment program allows high school students to attend public universities at zero tuition cost. It has no verification system to keep illegal aliens out of the taxpayer-funded system. And, unless they have the Obama DACA amnesty, which provides a work permit, illegal aliens are not eligible to work anywhere in the United States. Read the story on ImmigrationPoliticsGA.com here
SPLC Action Fund lobbyist Isabel Otero speaks against HB1083 in GA Capitol, Mar 4, 2010. Judiciary non-civil committee.

Isabelle Otero, SPLC Action:
Hi, good afternoon. Thank you. Uh, my name is Isabelle Otero. I am the Policy Associate for the SPLC Action Fund. Uh, we urge you to oppose at HB 1083. Uh, the SPLC Ac- Ac- uh, the SPLC Action Fund has seen these bills across the country. They are a result of an aggressive agenda by anti-immigrant hate groups, like the Federation for Immigration Reform. These types of unconstitutional bills become law- laws that serve as a tool for discrimination, because they- that is what- what’s their intended purpose.
The Southern Poverty Law Center is currently litigating against the SB 168 in Florida. And we are making our equal protection, uh, claims, and we are not done with the litigation yet. Um, these laws violate and individuals equal protection rights under the law, by disproportionally affecting black and brown people, and any other Georgian perceived to be foreign-born. Therefore, this is an unconstitutional and unfunded mandate, and you must allow-
… our law enforcement officials to continue to have discretion and authority that they need to do their jobs as they see fit, and not as the federal government sees fit.
The authors of this bill would like for us to believe that our law enforcement officials should just receive an administrative warrant from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a federal agency, not a judicial- judicial warrant, with oversight in the courts. And that’s enough to determine a persons status. That is not what an immigration detainer says. An immigration detainer is simply signaling that the federal government has more questions, and more- more adjudication to do for someone’s immigration status.
This bill, basically, opens up our law enforcement, uh, to all kinds of liability if they enforce this administrative warrant. This bill takes away their discretion, and may violate a lot of folks Fourth Amendment rights. Uh, in Florida, we have a case against the Monroe County, uh, Sheriff’s Department. They violated the Fourth Amendment rights of Mr. [Peter Brown 00:02:21]. He was illegally detained in Florida’s Monroe County Jail for deportation, despite his repeated pleas to authorities that he was a US citizen.

WSB radio Speaker 3:
We do.
WSB radi0 Speaker 2:
… for each side of the room just to have fun. So we- we’ve been covering it all while all of these states have been coming in. It looks like obviously we’re seeing the same stuff that you guys are- are getting in over there. And some of the most fascinating things that we’ve brought up have been, uh, immigration and the effect on this election here. So I’m going to start over on the, on the Democrat side, if that’s okay. So w- we have a very, a very limited time here, so immigration being a factor in some of these states and I’ll- I’ll start over here, so.
K
Sure.
K
Yeah.
K
Immigration will be a factor in plenty of these states and in Georgia will be a factor in some of these counties and communities. Uh, the Gwin- uh, the Republican party by and large has embraced an ideology or using rhetoric that is divisive or turns off many of the same voters they hope to win over. Case in point would be Gwinnett County last year were Sheriff Butch Conway invited a head of a hate group, D.A. King to speak at a panel discussion. It’s the gentleman that said immigrants aren’t here to cut your grass. They’re here to blow up your buildings and kill your children. That type of rhetoric is not only, not going to work to bring in people to the Republican Party. [inaudible 00:01:22] should actually bring them over into the Democratic Party and bring them over with passion. So I think that will be a hot issue in 2020.
Below is the audio from March 3, 2020 WSB radio comment from K.
D.A. King: In-state tuition benefits for illegals merely an incremental step
There is a hard and very well-financed push on in todayâs Georgia for âequityâ for illegal aliens that pro-enforcement Georgians should not ignore. Gone are the days when trusting voters could sit back and blindly trust Republican state legislators who ran as conservatives to uphold commonsense values and to do everything possible to discourage illegal immigration. More than ever before, itâs all about the money.
It cannot be said enough: According to the left-leaning Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, Georgia is now home to more illegal aliens than green card holders. Green cards are only awarded to real immigrants â that is, permanent residents who obeyed American immigration laws.
With his shameless abandonment of clear and detailed illegal immigration campaign promises, it is Gov. Brian Kemp (a Republican) who is setting the example for many dollar-first lawmakers and profiteers. Sadly, most Republicans cower at the thought of speaking up. That is not true of the illegals themselves.
Recently in this space, an illegal alien currently under cover of former President Obamaâs âtemporaryâ Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive amnesty and working for Facebookâs cheap labor lobbying arm, the billionaire-funded, FWD.us, again called for this equality for âdreamers.â The vast open borders lobby concocted that label two decades ago after the DREAM Act amnesty âfor the childrenâ was introduced the first time in Congress. The term was originally intended to invoke universal sympathy for the illegal aliens who claim victim status for their parentâs violation of our borders and immigration laws.
Readers should note the fact that the parents are still living, working and driving illegally in the U.S. is never part of the presentation.
Today, âdreamersâ has been intentionally expanded to encompass virtually any young âvictim of bordersâ who is stamping their feet in a demand for special treatment and amnesty. It is usually mixed in with claims of âinjusticeâ for all âimmigrantsâ in hopes that Americans will not stop to consider that an easy way to discern the difference between immigrants and illegal aliens is that immigrants do not require a repeat of the âone timeâ Republican amnesty of 1986 that served to expand and embolden illegal immigration.
Neither do real immigrants need special legislation to access in-state tuition in Georgia University System of Georgia colleges.
In todayâs Georgia, illegal aliens are lobbying our lawmakers
Consider the opening line from FWD.us lobbyist Jaime Rangleâs sales pitch column here for passage of the Georgia Resident In-State Tuition Act (HB997) education amnesty recently introduced under the Gold Dome by Daltonâs State Rep. Kasey Carpenter (a Republican): âDespite the efforts of leaders across our nation to reform immigration policies that unfairly limit opportunities for immigrants in our quest to achieve the American Dream, much more needs to be done. We must fix the broken system so immigrants like myself can continue contributing to Georgiaâs prosperous economy and communities.â
GA state Rep Kasey Carpenter. Photo: GA. General Assembly.
Georgians must stop to realize that this plea will never end and is merely part of the well-designed incremental plan to achieve complete parity for all illegal aliens who arrived here decades ago, last year, last week â and next year.
If a larger economy is the true desire of the grassroots GOP base, the next step to officially open borders and an influx of much of the third-world is an easy one to take.
It is not evident that most Republicans, elected or not, stop to realize that the goal in this âequityâ push on in-state tuition applies to illegal aliens living illegally in Georgia, DACA or not. But it does not apply to Americans, including real immigrants, living in Michigan (for example). It is also not clear that lawmakers are cognizant of the fact that while DACA recipients have been rewarded with work permits, non-DACA illegals that would benefit from the discounted tuition rate have no legal ability to work anyway.
Why is Rep. Carpenter pushing for the taxpayer-funded post-secondary education for them? Does he expect the feds to approve yet another amnesty?
If it is real âequityâ we want, shouldnât everyone in Georgiaâs public universities only pay in-state tuition?
Pro-borders Americans of all descriptions should be more â not less â active than the illegal alien lobby. Right now there are three bills in Atlanta to give special treatment and taxpayer-funded tuition breaks to people with no legal right to be in Georgia; two of them were introduced by Republicans.
Would you vote for any Republican who had made a campaign promise to do this?
D.A. King is president of the Dustin Inman Society. He is not a member of any political party.
Iâm writing to address Georgia âimmigration.â No, I donât mean the illegal immigrants from other countries but the legal immigrants who come to Georgia from states like New York, Illinois, Connecticut, New Jersey, etc.
Just for the record, I spend six months a year in New York and six months in Savannah. Weather is obviously a factor, but let me remind you of some the things that I have to continue to put up with in New York that you left behind when you became Georgia residents.
They include high taxes; high gas prices; billions in state budget deficits; crippling government regulations; sanctuary cities; massive welfare programs; severe restrictions on owning a firearm; abortion on demand up to the moment of birth, no bail required release for criminals; and in New York the inability to get a âTrusted Travelerâ pass because the governor thinks itâs more important to protect illegal aliens than the people who elected him
As the saying goes, âstupid is as stupid does.â If you voted for progressive Democrats at your previous address, by all means do it in Georgia. it may take a couple of elections, but youâll eventually get Georgia to look — and cost — like the place you left.
