Promises on immigration

In 1986, we were promised an end to illegal hiring (“jobs magnet”)
In 1996, we were promised an entry-exit system to track visa overstays
In 2005, we were promised secure drivers licenses
In 2006, we were promised a border fence
In 2018, they promise chain migration ends in 2035?
