Inman family to observe tenth anniversary of Dustin’s death with a candlelight vigil – American family separation one of the consequences of the illegal immigration invasion

Dustin Inman was a sixteen-year-old American boy killed by an illegal alien in a senseless traffic collision on Father’s Day weekend in the year 2000.

When: 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Where: Rolling Hills Memory Gardens cemetery, 4355 Highway 92
Acworth, GA 30102 MAP HERE

Killed by an illegal alien at age 16 on Father’s Day weekend, Dustin Inman was one of the un-counted thousands of Americans who have needlessly lost their lives because government in America refuses to secure American borders or enthusiastically enforce American immigration and employment laws.

On June 16, 2000, a speeding vehicle driven by Gonzalo Harrell-Gonzalez hurtled into the rear of the Inman family’s car while it was stopped at a red light in Ellijay, Georgia – killing Dustin and knocking unconscious Kathy and Billy Inman – Dustin’s parents. Because of their injuries in the wreck, Kathy and Billy were not able to attend their only son’s funeral

When she regained consciousness after five weeks in a coma, Kathy learned of Dustin’s death and that because of spinal injuries received in the wreck that killed him, she would spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair. According to Billy Inman, the family has lost track of the exact number of corrective surgeries Kathy has endured because of the crash that separated the Inman family.

Kathy is now being cared for at home by a part-time visiting nurse and her husband after the most recent operation to relieve the pain which occurred last week.

“Billy Inman will tell you that he blames his federal and state government for his son’s death more than he blames the illegal alien who killed him. No one should have to suffer the mental and physical agony these fine folks have been enduring for ten years” said D.A. King, president of the Dustin Inman Society. “Families like ours are the real victims of illegal immigration. We will miss Dustin until the day we die” said Kathy Inman from her wheelchair.

Inman family friend and Cobb County anti-illegal immigration activist Mary Kirkendoll has kindly set up an account to aid the Inmans’ with their financial difficulties caused by Kathy’s ongoing medical care.

Donations from the public to the Inman Family can be made through The Inman Family Fund at any Regions Bank branch in Georgia.

Legal KSU students pay price for heeding law
June 11, 2010

DEAR EDITOR:

I was a Kennesaw State University student and graduated in December 2005. At the time I was not a permanent resident. I was a legal resident of Georgia for over 12 months before I signed up for my first course. I was charged out-of-state tuition. I was also told by the Office of Registrar that I was not eligible for financial aid. I was always under impression that all non-US citizens are charged out-of-state fees even though you have been a resident (in my case, legal) of Georgia for over 12 months.

After hearing all the news about Jessica Colotl, I am quite angry. Not because I was charged higher tuition, but because an illegal alien was given government benefits and I was not. Why? For following the law? I am sure I am not the only one here. Maybe other U.S. citizens (non-Georgia residents) were charged more than Ms. Colotl (and many such illegals). To all those who stress that we need bright people like Ms. Colotl, let me stress that I got 3.9 GPA. I am still less “important” than illegals here.

I have asked the Kennesaw State University’s Registrars office and the Board of Regents office for an explanation.

Now after four-plus years, it all seems old, but I am still upset that you get penalized for following the law, and get preferential treatment for ignoring it.

This Is the Way Sovereignty Ends [Mark Krikorian]

The indomitable Sarah Carter (winner of the 2006 Katz Award for Excellence in the Coverage of Immigration) reports on plans for a satellite Mexican consular office on Catalina Island to issue ID cards to illegal aliens. This kind of thing has been going on for some time now, but this part got my attention:

Officers with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said their agency was asked by Mexican officials not to enforce U.S. immigration laws on the island while the cards were being issued.

“It amazes me every time that the Mexican government has the gall to tell us what to do,” said an ICE official, who asked not to be named. “More surprisingly is how many times we stand by and let them. This is just an example of one of hundreds of requests we’ve had to deal with.”

In the old country they called that chutzpah. But what’s worse, as the ICE official suggests above, is that we permit this kind of behavior. You teach people how to treat you, and we’ve taught Mexico that this kind of outlandish request is okay.

Regents Address Illegal Immigration at Georgia Campuses

Regents Address Illegal Immigration at Georgia Campuses

Jim Burress (2010-06-09)

ATLANTA, GA (WABE) – After a very public debate on what part state universities should play in enforcing immigration laws, the state Board of Regents Wednesday took up the issue. WABE’s Jim Burress reports.

The Board of Regents adopted two resolutions . The first specifically denies in-state tuition to someone in the US illegally. The second requires campuses to review all applications for fall admission and determine whether undocumented students are receiving federal or state benefits.

John Millsaps, spokesman for the University System of Georgia, says the process could identify indivudals who are not eligible for in-state tution and should pay out-of-state tuition. “Those people may be legal US citizens,” Millsaps said. “They might be undocumented individuals. It could be both.”

Regents also developed a committee to look into how rigorously standards of verification now are. D.A. King, an outspoken opponent of illegal immigration, says that’s encouraging. But he says universities must go one step further.

“If they continue to admit illegal aliens into our university system, I will take them to civil court as well as having filed complaints with the state and federal government,” King said.

Currently, universities don’t check students’ immigration status for admission purposes. Regents uphold immigration enforcement falls outside of their obligation.
