Alert! From CAPS…. SAY NO to the Ag JOBS Amnesty

Next on the amnesty again agenda?

Thanks to the Californians for Poulation Stabalization (CAPS)

The Ag JOBS amnesty.
Alert! Senators want to add AgJobs amnesty bill to Farm Bill!

Stymied in their attempts to pass a massive increase in immigration, proponents of this notion are trying to attach pieces of the “comprehensive” bill to funding legislation. A major effort is underway to include the AgJobs bill as part of the 2007 Farm Bill Reauthorization.

As presently written, the AgJobs legislation would provide an amnesty for illegal aliens engaged in agricultural work and their spouses and children-potentially 3 million people-and would provide few safeguards against fraud in the application process. It also relaxes the standards for H-2A agricultural guest worker visas.
Contrary to claims of amnesty proponents, the agricultural labor portion of fresh produce constitutes only 7-10% of the purchase price. A doubling of the pay of farm workers would lead only to a minor increase in this portion of a grocery bill.
Nothing will prevent agribusiness from hiring new illegal aliens to replace those who are legalized this time. Each amnesty and guest worker program depresses the wages of agricultural workers and other working poor by providing an endless supply of cheap labor.
The 1986 amnesty led to increases in illegal immigration. This proposal will be no different.
After a few years, “temporary” workers could apply for a green card and eventually citizenship.

Farms get help from inmates

…The traditional farm laborers, who planted and picked vegetables on southern Colorado farms, are staying out of the state after legislators last year passed one of the country’s toughest laws against illegal [aliens… criminals], Butcher said. She said the farmers see Colorado inmates as their possible salvation – the most viable replacements for the gaps…

Last week’s NPR segment produced more than 350 e-mails… only one of them negative. Not much of it is without curse words and name calling, so I am not posting here.

Comments:

I heard your interview yesterday on NPR. I am one of many fairly liberal Democrats in this part of the country who believes that everything you said during the interview is correct. And I am REALLY tired of the endless droning of the media and supporters of illegal immigration about “jobs Americans won’t do”, “they are HELPING(??)the economy” etc. etc.

Your answers to NPRs questions were spot on. Great Job!! I’m sending a donation.

Mexican politician: We should have gotten open borders with NAFTA…

Open borders is the goal…

“The big error of (former President Carlos) Salinas was not to demand the free circulation of people in exchange for the North American Free Trade Agreement, like it exists in Europe,” Muñoz Ledo said.

A former leader of the PRI who helped found the center-left Party of the Democratic Revolution in 1989, Muñoz Ledo has served in both houses of Mexico’s Congress. He was once Mexico’s ambassador to the United Nations, and during the early years of the Fox administration he served as ambassador to the European Union.

SB 529, GEORGIA STATE SENATOR CHIP ROGERS’ LAW: ENFORCEMENT WORKS! The status quo is changing in Georgia – video here

“The status quo is unacceptable
George W. Bush – President of the United States – June, 2007 in his unrelenting push for amnesty-again.

The status quo is changing in Georgia.
D.A. King

Most Americans recognize that if George Bush had any intention of securing American borders, he would have done so on September 11, 2001.

He has not.

Most Americans recognize that the illegal immigration crisis in America did not happen overnight and will not be solved overnight or by another amnesty.

Most Americans will no longer suffer the false logic that because it would likely be impossible to deport more than 20 million people all at once we must legalize them…like we did in 1986.

What about self-deportation?

The real solution is strikingly easy to see: Attrition of the illegal alien and illegal employer population through enforcement of the American rule of law. Here in Georgia, we have worked very hard to create a climate in which illegals – both employers and aliens – will either begin to obey the law… or to leave.

Georgia state Senator Chip Rogers authored the 2006 Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act (SB 529) and stood up against the inevitable derision that comes with any demand that our borders be secured and our laws be equally applied. The plan was that a state law requiring compliance with and enforcement of federal law, illegals would look for more hospitable states in which to reside ( maybe Mexico?) – and stop coming to Georgia.

Most Americans should know that Chip Rogers is a great American hero.

To see that the Georgia law is accomplishing exactly what it was designed to do, please watch this two minute video from CBS 46 TV in Atlanta on YOUTUBE. ( Sarah Parker reporting)

The status quo is unacceptable…including the president being allowed to go unpunished for his refusal to honor his oath of office and to enforce American law.

Most Americans understand: ENFORCEMENT WORKS and that the answer is Attrition through Enforcement.
