To many, America is not so much a place as it is a market place. Click here for short video from YOUTUBE.com
We need Americans to be at the coming Cherokee County Commissioners meeting Tuesday. The open borders lobby will have a large and vocal crowd there, led by that all American illegal alien lobbyist, Jerry Gonzalez, demanding that American laws not be applied to illegals…or as Jerry constantly puts it “immigrants”.
Immigrants enter the U.S. lawfully. Si?

Cherokee Co. to vote on English as official language measure
Associated Press
The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners is expected to vote Tuesday on whether to make English the county’s official language.
That measure is proposed by Commissioner Karen Mahurin, who has been behind another measure the board will vote on that tackles immigration _ a proposal to fine landlords who rent to illegal immigrants in unincorporated Cherokee County.
Commissioner Derek Good is also pushing for the county to join in two federal programs that target illegal immigration: The Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program, which checks a federal database for the eligibility of anybody seeking public benefits, and the Basic Pilot program, which checks the employment authorization of all employees.
At a public hearing last month, immigrant rights advocates protested the rent measure, which would require property owners to prove their tenants live in the country legally. The county marshal’s office could check the immigration status of people renting or leasing homes. And if a violation has occurred, the property owner would be cited, their business license could be suspended and they would not be able to collect rent.
I cannot be there this time, as I will be in Arizona watching Border Patrol agents risk their lives to apprehend the future illegal aliens that Jerry needs to continue getting his pay from Sam Zamarripa’s GALEO.

More on the Cherokee County effort here. PLEASE see our BLOG page on a regular basis to keep up.
In 1954 under President Dwight D. Eisenhower the United States Border Patrol, with just over 1,000 agents, was able to remove over 1,000,000 (one million) illegal aliens from the United States. This took approximately one (1) year. It is a documented fact that the vast majority (over 75%) of the illegal aliens who left this country “self deported” when they saw that the American government was serious about enforcing the law.

It occured to me while preparing to go back to the Arizona/Mexican border Monday that the readers here may want to read what the Border Patrol union local 2544 in Tucson, Arizona have to say about the President of the United States and his policy of non-enforcement of our laws and our borders.
This is from the people who are right now risking their lives to attempt to apprehend the same illegal aliens that we will likely see here in line at our local banks applying for mortgages – or at the state Capitol demanding amnesty, a path to citizenship and the right to vote…led by Sam Zamarripa, Jerry Gonzalez and Teodoro Maus.
Read it for yourself:
President Bush, read our lips, NO AMNESTY! Your continuous defeatist rhetoric about “we just can’t deport 12 million people” got old about a year ago. Repeating it ad nauseam doesn’t make it any more truthful. Secure the border, cut off the jobs and free government handouts, start hammering greedy employers who hire illegal aliens, and watch them make a run for the border…..heading south by the millions. Many of them will “self-deport”. If you had this same defeatist attitude about Iraq, Saddam Hussein would still be in power. We’re not buying your amnesty sales pitch down here in the real world. Maybe you can explain to us why we’re risking our lives to stop the same people you keep encouraging to come in by the millions with your incessant pro-amnesty speeches (“guest-worker”, “earned legalization”, etc.)

We now have over 10,000 Border Patrol agents in this country. We also have improved communications, and we are able to transport people more efficiently.
It should be no problem to send 10,000,000 illegal aliens back home in a year with an aggressive enforcement effort. Those are the plain facts. People can make excuses all day long. However, history proves that this defeatist attitude is dead wrong.
Mr. Bush should provide evidence that the task is too large, but he can’t. The bottom line is that the people of this country (who are supposed to be running things) want our immigration laws enforced, but many politicians simply lack the will to let us do our jobs properly. What Mr. Bush really means is that he and others lack the intestinal fortitude to see our laws enforced.
You might even say it’s “hard work” to enforce the laws. As the radical pro-illegal immigration activists like to say, “Si, se puede”.

In this video news blog experts and elected officials explore the shocking statistics that raise the possibility that massive illegal immigration to the United Sates could lead to the same type of violence that occurred in France and England. It was noted that the violence in Europe was caused by children of immigrants from Pakistan and other Muslim countries.

Clayton County police have identified a suspect in the shooting deaths of a pregnant Stockbridge woman and her friend.
Police are looking for Abraham Alonso Alcaraz-Vasquez, who celebrated his 22nd birthday Thursday night at the club where the woman danced. Alcaraz-Vasquez is charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault, police said.
Maj. Tim Robinson said Alcaraz-Vasquez shot Jitaan Leigh Ann Hornsby, 19, in the head after forcing her car to stop about 2 a.m. Friday on Conley Road not far from the Crazy Horse Saloon where she and friend and roommate Tiffany Smith, 19, danced.
On Saturday Robinson said detectives believe Alcaraz-Vasquez may be headed toward Mexico. They are in contact with Texas law-enforcement and have fowarded information to them.

Illegal immigration has legislators off to border
By SHELIA M. POOLE
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
12/02/06
Four Georgia legislators are heading to the border to get a firsthand look at the fight against illegal immigration.
State Reps. Tom Graves (R-Ranger), Barry Loudermilk (R-Cassville), Martin Scott (R-Rossville) and state Sen. Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) will leave Monday for a 2 1/2-day trip to the Cochise County, Ariz., area along the U.S.-Mexican border, according to a news release from Graves’ office.
“We see this as an educational tour,” Graves said in an interview. This will be his first trip to the border. “Illegal immigration is the number one issue facing Georgia. We wanted to spend some time at the border and see what resources the federal government was using to try to stop it.”
Georgia has one of the nation’s fastest-growing illegal immigrant populations. According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, an estimated 470,000 illegal immigrants live in the state.
Graves said no taxpayer money is being used for the trip. Joining the lawmakers will be D.A. King, a Cobb County resident and president of the Dustin Inman Society, an anti-illegal immigration group. King has been to Cochise County several times.

Georgia Lawmakers to Inspect U.S. – Mexican Border
ATLANTA –
Three members of the Georgia House of Representatives and a Georgia State Senator will embark on a fact-finding mission along the United States – Mexican border next week to see first hand the problem of illegal immigration.
State Reps. Tom Graves (R-Ranger), Martin Scott (R-Rossville), Barry Loudermilk (R-Cassville) and State Senator Chip Rogers (R- Woodstock), will join a representative from the Dustin Inman Society Dec. 4-6 to inspect the border area near Chochise County, Arizona near Bisbee, Arizona.
“I want to see first hand what is really happening on our borders – both by day and night,” Graves said. “Illegal immigration has been and will continue to be an issue in the Georgia Legislature, and its vital that we have a full understanding of the issue, from illegal invasions to final deportation.”
Rep. Martin Scott said he wanted to go on the tour “to show support for the men and women who risk their lives every day trying to secure our borders. We want to see if the federal government is doing a better job patrolling our borders in recent months, particularly since so many illegal immigrants have wound up in Georgia.”
“Having a better understanding about the illegal immigration problem will help us determine what additional actions we may need to take in Georgia,” stated Barry Loudermilk (R-Cassville).
A report in October released by the House Committee on Homeland Security found that the U. S. Border Patrol apprehended 10 to 30 percent of illegal crossings or about 1.2 million people in 2005.
The U. S. Census Bureau recently reported that Georgia had the highest rate of increase in it illegal resident population – a jump of 114 percent from 2000 to 2005. Arizona was second with an increase of 45 percent during the same time period.
“This is a fact finding mission to familiarize ourselves with what happens on our Southwest border,” said D. A. King, president of the Dustin Inman Society, a Georgia organization that monitors illegal immigration. “We will be meeting with local residents, watching how border patrol works and checking conditions along the
U. S. – Mexican border. I’m sure we will likely see illegal crossings each day.”
For those of you who don’t follow illegal immigration in the Spanish language media, a little something here from Atlanta Latino on the Cherokee Board of Commissioners meeting in November concerning local action to slow illegal immigration and employment.
As Atlanta Latino reports, the Latino “activists” [ think paid lobbyists for open borders] were very much against any local enforcement. [ They are firmly against any national law enforcement as well…] I was there and outlined several available tools to the Commissioners, which are also outlined in a Cherokee Tribune column aimed at the Commissioners…here.
There will be a vote Tuesday, December 5 at the meeting that statrts at 6:00 PM. We hope that you can be there. Info here.
Here is the Atlanta Latino story on the last meeting.
Latinos speak out against Cherokee County ordinance
By Eugenia Miranda
emiranda@atlantalatino.com
11/30/2006
Hispanic and non-Hispanic Cherokee County residents, Latino community leaders, lawyers, religious groups and corporate representatives showed up to voice their opinions about an ordinance that would keep undocumented residents from renting apartments or homes in Cherokee County.
Commissioner Karen Mahurin introduced an ordinance a few weeks ago that would fine landlords and even possibly suspend their licenses if they do not verify the immigration status of every tenant they rent to.
More than 100 people attended the public hearing last week, and about another 100 were left outside the Cherokee County Justice Center’s jury assembly room, where the meeting was held.
The convocation started with a prayer, and then, after all other business had been taken care of, proceeded to allow representatives of various groups and residents to present their concerns.
Jerry Gonzalez, the executive director of the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials (GALEO) attended the meeting and said that there was not nearly enough time given to the speakers because there were still many who wanted to speak, but could not because of time constraints.
The commissioners had planned to have 30 minutes for public speakers but ran overtime.
Rosa Salazar, a Mexican-American and long-time Cherokee County resident, was left out of the public hearing because the jury assembly room had already reached capacity when she arrived. Salazar attended another previous public hearing that had to do with road construction, and she angrily expressed her dismay on the situation.
“The room was huge for that hearing, there was an upper level, there was a lower level, there were so many chairs. Why did they put this in the closet? This is a closet compared to the room they had in the last hearing. I live in Cherokee County, I was not allowed to get in there, I was not allowed to speak. Who are these people? Why are there men from Cobb County coming and talking here? King doesn’t even live here!”
THE SPEAKERS
Among the invited speakers was D.A. King, the president of the Dustin Inman Society, an anti-illegal immigrant activist group. King was invited to the meeting to present three tools that the county could implement to crack down on the presence of undocumented immigrants in Cherokee County.
“Contrary to what you have heard tonight, you do have the authority and the means to enforcement immigration laws. I want to commend you on the consideration of the ordinance. I came tonight to point out things that are available to your right now,” said King.
He recommended that the county commissioners use … the federal [Basic] Pilot Program of identification, the SAVE program… 287 G to ensure that contractors hired by the county government are employing legal workers. He cited Mecklenburg County, North Carolina as a success with the 287G federal enforcement program, because the North Carolina county has already put 650 individuals into deportation proceedings.
King also referred back to the United States constitution and said, “The constitution of the United States guarantees each state protection from invasion. Absent, the promised federal protection, that we all can see we do not have, I respectfully plea[d] with you to take advantage of the tools you have while you consider your ordinace
