Americans begin to exhale – Democrats seem to recognize that a path to citizenship – again – is not the way to get re-elected in 2008

Guess what? The Democratic controlled U.S. House of Representatives may not be a rubber stamp for the President’s amnesty-again “guest-worker” plan!

Below is a list of the Dems ” 6 point plan for 2006″. Amnesty again is not on the list.

Now, about 2007…

1) Honest Leadership & Open Government
We will end the Republican culture of corruption and restore a government as good as the people it serves, starting with real ethics reform.

2) Real Security
We will protect Americans at home and lead the world by telling the truth to our troops, our citizens and our allies. We believe in a strong national defense that is both tough and smart, recognizing that homeland security begins with hometown security.

3) Energy Independence
We will create a cleaner, greener and stronger America by reducing our dependence on foreign oil, eliminating billions in subsidies for oil and gas companies and use the savings to provide consumer relief and develop energy alternatives, and investing in energy independent technology.

4) Economic Prosperity & Educational Excellence
We will create jobs that stay in America and restore opportunity for all Americans, starting with raising the minimum wage, expanding Pell grants and making college tuition tax deductible. We also believe in budget discipline that reduces our deficit.

5) A Healthcare System that Works for Everyone
We will join 36 other industrialized nations in making sure everyone has access to affordable health care, starting by fixing the prescription drug program and investing in stem cell and other medical research.

6) Retirement Security
We will ensure that a retirement with dignity is the right and expectation of every single American, starting with pension reform, expanding saving incentives and preventing the privatization of social security.

With some factual errors, here is a Washington Post report on the new majority in Congress realization that the majority of Americans want secure borders and equally applied laws…the new American Dream.

Democrats May Proceed With Caution on Immigration
Explosive Issue Not A Top Priority For Incoming Leaders

By Darryl Fears and Spencer S. Hsu
Washington Post Staff Writers
Monday, November 13, 2006; Page A03

“…In the days after the election, Democratic leaders surprised pro-immigration groups by not including the issue on their list of immediate priorities. Experts said the issue is so complicated, so sensitive and so explosive that it could easily blow up in the Democrats’ faces and give control of Congress back to Republicans in the next election two years from now. And a number of Democrats who took a hard line on illegal immigration were also elected to Congress”.

Jeanne Butterfield, executive director of the American Immigration Lawyers Association:

Butterfield predicted that lobbyists and Democrats have less than a year to move legislation that could put some 12 million illegal immigrants on a path to legal residency, before the looming 2008 elections make a deal politically impossible. And analysts say the fate of President Bush’s proposal to create a temporary worker program for 200,000 immigrants is in doubt, with labor’s allies in charge

Fast Fact: U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-California on “Guest Worker” legislation

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California on “Guest Worker” legislation:

“I would have a very difficult time supporting any guest worker bills, because most guest worker programs are magnets for illegal immigration,” she said. “The guest worker bills that say somebody can come to the United States for three years, bring their family, renew it for another three years, and then they should all go back to their home country are unrealistic, because they are not going to go back.”

For those of us who have taken the position that American borders should be secured, American laws should be equally applied and that English should be the common – and official – language of our nation, the election change-over in Washington simply means that we fight a different set of enemies, led by the same amnesty-again/open borders corporate errand boy.

Friday, 10 November was Marine Corps Birthday.

Vets Day Priorities: A Grateful Nation or Cheap Labor?

“The character of a nation can be measured by the way that nation treats its veterans.” – Author unknown

Veteran’s Day reminds me of the curious approach we take to American vets compared to the huge illegal alien population in our country. Illegal immigration, while it affects all Americans, is not generally connected to how we as a nation treat our veterans, but it should be.

There is no better time to bring it up, again, than Veterans Day.

In 1986, the same year that the federal government rewarded about three million illegal aliens with a “one-time” amnesty, it also passed into law the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, which guarantees no-cost medical treatment in American emergency rooms to anyone, regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. Or both.

The fact that the 1986 amnesty was a miserable failure at its advertised goal – stopping illegal immigration and illegal employment – is undeniable. The EMTALA law however, was a smashing success. Millions of illegal aliens, most of whom are paid the lowest possible wage by their law-breaking employers, receive taxpayer funded health care – emergency or not – in America’s emergency rooms at the lowest possible charge – zero. Nada.

No questions asked.

On Jan. 17, 2003 the Veterans Administration changed its enrollment guidelines and began to ask a great deal of questions of the U.S. military veterans who applied for their promised medical benefits after that date. Questions such as “Where do you live?”, “What was your income last year?”, “How many dependents do you have?” and “Is your need for treatment related to your past military service?”

Any vet who applied after the January 2003 date was held up to a “means test.” Here in Georgia, if they made more than about $36,000 the year previous to applying, and their ailment is not service-related, they are assigned a VA priority category labeled “8g” and are denied enrollment in the VA medical system.

No-charge VA medical benefits available to the American vets in category 8g for routine medical care? Zero. Nada.

Emergency medical care for the former defenders of the country? To quote the language from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs: “These (Category 8g) veterans are eligible for care – on a humanitarian emergency basis and are charged the applicable tortuously liable billing rate for services provided.”

Interesting to note here: The VA Web site is available in Spanish.

The clear message from the same government charged with securing our borders and enforcing our laws is this: If you are present in this country illegally, even if you are using stolen or fake Social Security numbers and bogus identity information, we will enforce the law that requires taxpayers to fund your medical care. If you are an American veteran in VA Category 8g, you do not qualify for the routine medical care from the VA you were promised when you joined the American armed forces – and you will be billed for any emergency care.

Interesting to note which of our laws are actually enforced, isn’t it?

There should be questions asked here.

There are about 25 million living vets in today’s America. Most who study illegal immigration understand that we have about the same number of illegal aliens – notwithstanding the absurd disinformation put out by the federal government.

If you listen carefully you will realize that the sounds you do not hear are the cries of injustice and unfairness in this shameful system of astonishing priorities concerning our tax dollars, a large percentage of which are paid by veterans.

There are now more than 200,000 Category 8g vets and our numbers are growing.

With hundreds of thousands of soon-to-be veterans serving all over the world and millions of illegal aliens coming across our borders each year, we should be asking ourselves about what this arrangement says about the character of our nation. And what we will be telling future veterans on Veteran’s Days to come about our “priorities” when they apply for VA medical care.

What was that about looking for a better life, the rule of law, cheap labor and a grateful nation again?

Al Qaeda Leader: Materials Smuggled Across U.S. Mexico Border – next attack “bigger than 9/11” – Good news for corporate America and both political parties: cost of labor going down in the “New America”

The stock market is soaring, you can get you lawn mowed cheaply and it really isn’t that big a deal that the U.S. not has two flag and two languages…right? So what if banks are allowed to violate several federal laws..it is the money that counts…Si?

Al Qaeda Leader: Materials Smuggled Across Border

KRGV TV Texas

We can attack America anytime,” says Abu Dawood during the interview. He also told the reporter that Muslims must leave America.
Mir says, “Abu Dawood told me, ‘We are determined to attack America again and that attack will be bigger than 9/11.”

The Al Qaeda commander says the attack will be led by Adnan El Shukrijumah. He goes by many aliases but is called Brother Adnan by his terrorist friends.

Brother Adnan is wanted by the feds for possible terrorist threats against the U.S. He’s considered armed and dangerous

According to the Pakistani reporter, Dawood said Brother Adnan “had smuggled some dangerous materials from the Mexican border to inside the United States of America.”

During our investigation, we found out a lot of people from suspicious countries are crossing right here in South Texas. Since 9/11, literally hundreds of illegal aliens have been caught here from places like Iraq, Iran, Syria, Egypt and Pakistan.

Federal law enforcement estimates only ten to thirty percent of illegals who cross are actually caught.

Governor Rick Perry says, “To think that international terrorists have not already exploited our border is naive.”

Read the rest here, and remember, amnesty for the millions of illegals and their campaign donating employers is the answer to all our problems…like it was in 1986.

An answer – again – to all of the questions I get asking “WHY” does the American government not secure our borders or enforce our laws?

Sir, you speak as if you had anything to do with the way the country is.
This is an immigrant nation. Immigrants who come here to work have always been welcome. Immigrants are not criminals, they are not terrorists. They are hard working people who come here to work.
You need to be educated a little. Study the Mexican-U.S. war and the treaty of Guadalupe Idalgo. To make a long story short, the U.S. government invaded and took by force half of the Mexican territory. It’s people like you, with their expansionist mentality that has created the tension with Mexico. Don’t forget that this was their land before it was ours. The least we can do is NOT BE MORONS and act like the compassionate nation we claim to be. Your ancestors were immigrants also. In fact, your ancestors were the illegal aliens at some point in the history of this country.
If immigrants come here to work hard and make this a better country, they are welcome to my country.
Mi casa es su casa. Welcome.

I woke up still seething over the fact that the President and our government in general will sanction the open violation of our laws if the price is right and the perpetrators use the term “Hispanic” while they cater to the newest American victim class – the 20-30 million illegal aliens colonizing our nation. [See the blog below]

Mary from Ohio not knowing what an “immigrant” is doesn’t help.

Getting Mary the rocket scientist’s e mail from Ohio didn’t help my mood either. While mail with this type of [non]thinking is not new here, it didn’t set well this morning, so I replied, shortly.

My reply. I will try to better for the rest of the day, honest.

Mary, Mary, Mary… Viva La Migra! Viva Guadalupe Hidalgo! Try being illegal in Mexico! –
please.

You represent the worst in mindless anti-Americanism. You don’t have the brain power to reason out the fact that you are losing your country, or the courage to fight for it, so you roll over and make it a moral issue to accept losing what your grandfather fought for.
You deserve what you get. I hope all 10,000 or so illegals who come here today DO go to your house, you pathetic air head.

Invite these folks too. www.mexicamovement.com

Crime pays! LAT Money Center Introduces Nationwide Program That Offers Mortgage Financing to…illegal aliens. Crime does pay! Money laundering and harboring – and encouraging illegals to remain in the U.S. to the rest of us

Money Center Introduces Nationwide Program That Offers Mortgage Financing to Illegal Aliens

To understand why illegal immigration is an approved act of organized crime… just follow the money back to the bankers.

Nevermind that it is a felony to encourage an illegal alien to remain in the United States. And that penalties are increased for doing so for commercial profit.

Never mind that the ITIN is to be used for tax purposes only and that the IRS says it is not valid ID.

Nevermind that running known illegally obtained wages/funds through a bank account is money laundering.

Forget that the matricula consular is almost as easy to get as the daily newspaper.

Don’t even mention RICO laws.

If you have any doubts about who is dictating which laws will be enforced and wonder why our borders are not secured…keep reading.

Then call your Congressional House Reps and your U.S. Senators and ask why this is not “an issue”.

I will.

I will also ask which crimes we, as mere Americans can commit and go un-punished if we make/donate enough money.

PRESS RELEASE

LAT Money Center Introduces Nationwide Program That Offers Mortgage Financing to Undocumented Workers

LAS VEGAS & ARLINGTON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–LAT Money Centers, a Hispanic-owned financial services company, has introduced the industry’s first nationwide financing program for undocumented workers that want to buy homes. This lending program will offer loans to potential homeowners using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN) and Matricula Consular IDs in lieu of social security numbers. The company announced the new initiative at the 2006 Hispanic Marketing Convention & Expo hosted by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals this week in Las Vegas.

The program will be made available to 14,000 NAHREP members in more than 48 states across the nation. “Recent industry research has shown that Hispanic homeowners are less likely to default on their home loan than other borrowing groups,” said LAT Money Centers COO Samuel Angueira. “The Hispanic community takes pride in home ownership and that results in fewer missed payments, less defaults, and a higher return for investors.”

“NAHREP’s 2004 study estimated that the market potential for these loans is conservatively $44 billion in new mortgages,” said Timothy Sandos, NAHREP President and CEO. “A number of ITIN loan pilot programs have confirmed since then that these type of loans perform as well or better than conforming loans. We applaud LAT Money Centers for being the first lender to make this kind of program available nationwide.”

LAT Money Centers is a Hispanic owned Financial Services Company that provides a variety of financial services and education to the Hispanic and Latino communities. The company is a subsidiary of Latino Bancshares, Inc., a Nevada Corporation based in Arlington, TX. Latino Bancshares, Inc. and its subsidiaries are active in Mortgage and Investment Banking, Insurance, and Real Estate.
