SAN DIEGO — Officials said Thursday that a man accused of killing a young woman in a hit-and-run crash was in the U.S. illegally.
From NBC San Diego…with video.
Most of us realize that more Americans have been killed by illegal aliens than were killed on 9/11.
Ask yourself why the president refuses to secure American borders.
Emotions ran high as the family of the victim and the suspect watched Perez walk into the courtroom. Kortlang’s family came to court with pictures of her and the crumpled Honda she was driving when she was hit by a drunken driver and killed last week.
Authorities said the driver took off on foot afterward. According to Kristian Troche, the deputy district attorney handling the case, Perez was that driver.
During the arraignment, Perez never looked at Kortlang’s family or the few members of his own family who were in court. At one point, he hung his head as the prosecutor described details of the hit-and-run, reported NBC 7/39..
Troche said that Perez has four prior convictions for driving under the influence. NBC 7/39 searched court documents and found information that the first took place in April 2003. The next record listed a conviction in July 2003. Perez entered not guilty pleas and was sentenced to 12 days and probation for each of those convictions.

Reports of an elephant crossing the river or people trying to smuggle an elephant across were rampant Tuesday….
“The elephant never made landfall into Mexico, but I tell you something, he could have made 15 laps back and forth, but no one showed up,” said Raj Peter Bhakta, a former star on the NBC show “The Apprentice,” who also is a Republican candidate for the 13th District U.S. House of Representatives seat in Eastern Pennsylvania.
He was in Brownsville to raise funds with friends and decided to get a first-hand look at border security while he was here. In Brownsville, he witnessed half a dozen men swim under one of the international bridges “with complete immunity” which prompted him to take the immigration issue to the next level.
“If I can get an elephant led by a mariachi band into this country, I think Osama bin Laden could get across with all the weapons of mass destruction he could get into this country,” Bhakta said. The mariachi band was not immediately available for comment.

Reader Comment:
This latest fiasco shows prove that our president speaks with a forked tongue. He is only giving lip service to securing our borders. When discussing border security the president sounds like a hawk but actually prevented any meaningful border enforcement for over five years.
No one knows how many terrorists are inside our borders.
In 2003, when I quit my own business to attempt to save my country from open borders and illegal immigration, I formed an organization I named The American Resistance Foundation. [ Please see the BORDERLESS CONTINENT page]
It seemed to me that if the French [the French!] had the courage to resist the invasion of their nation – and surrender by their government – that it would be more than acceptable to use the same title in my own country.
My goal was to unite the Americans from coast to coast who have the courage to stand up and say out loud that illegal immigration and open American borders [ the French can do what they want, us too!] is not only wrong, but national suicide.
It was not a project that one man in Georgia with his own limited savings could make work.
Our focus is now on Georgia. and the Dustin Inman Society.
Same mission. Secure borders and stop illegal immigration and employment.
Oh my!
The American Resistance Foundation is an effort of which I am very proud. It is present in name, and Website, only. We may be back, let’s see to what level the President of the United States and our Congress will bend.
Already, far too low a bar has been set.
We still get mail from the site.
Here is an all too common letter from TAR. We get many of the same letters at the Dustin Inman Society…from all too common Americans.
Note: When you get lost on the issue of illegal immigration, always follow the money.
From all directions.
Unedited letter from TAR reader below.
Sender? – John James, Lexington, Kentucky. USA. Hola John James!
Since when can you find fifteen American citizens to work eight hours in a hot tobacco field and do it right. People like me cannot afford to pay more than minimum wage for that much labor. And don’t start with the give up tobacco plot, without I could not pay my bills, my taxes, or my tuition at college. The fact is without the illegal immigrants, people like me (there are thousands of us) would be placed into poverty. Lucky for me, I am not trying to pay off my property or equipment, because it was passed down to me.
Make up your own mind while you remember the America of only 20 years ago.
It would seem that John James of Lexington KY. cannot.
Tuition at college John?

FAST FACT: America has the highest birth and fertility rate and the fastest population growth rate of any developed nation in the world.
(The Population Fix by Edward C. Hartman)
There is a new movie out on illegal immigration and our borders, “BORDER WAR”.
I saw this production on our borders and illegal immigration last night, and am urging you to see it for yourself. Having been to the border in Arizona several times, I know most of the people depicted in it. Lupe Moreno, a character in the story, is not only a dear friend, but also on the Board of Advisors of the Dustin Inman Society.
The Dustin Inman Society has no financial interest in this movie.

There are some things you should not try at home. This is not one of them.
Below is my letter to the Atlanta office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement regarding former Mexican Consul General Teodoro Maus [ his freinds call him Teo…say TAY-oh].
We need more letters like this one and we need to ask our elected officials at all levels why this guy is allowed to flout the law that we are fully expected to follow.

The Compliance Enforcement Unit (CEU), an investigative component of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), is charged with tracking and pursuing foreign students, exchange visitors and other non-immigrant visitors who violate their immigration status. From the DHS Website.
Special Agent Smith,
I write to ask that your office investigate possible visa violations of the former Atlanta Mexican Consul General, Teodoro Maus and Adelina Nichols. Both are listed as organizers and contacts for an organization, La Alianza 17 de Marzo, which is openly advocating opposition, disobedience – and an end to enforcement – of several existing laws, both state and federal.
Maus a Mexican citizen, is reportedly present in the United States on a visa, as is Nichols. Each are well-known organizers of thousands of illegal aliens in their effort to continue to subvert the law that your office is charged with enforcing.
Both of the above aliens are involved in what can only be described as a conspiracy to aid, assist, abet, harbor and encourage illegal aliens to remain in these United States. Both are doing so for commercial profit and gain and are meddling in the affairs of the U.S. as foreign nationals while being in clear violation of 8 USC 1324.
As you know, immigration and U.S. visa requirements dictate that visa holders strictly obey existing U.S. law. The activities of the two individuals I mention above are well documented and publicized and they are very bold in their defiance of the rule of law that Americans are held to in their own nation.
It is my hope that you will regard this letter as a citizen complaint and report of known criminal activity on which you will act and reply to as soon as possible.
I have nothing but respect and admiration for the dangerous and endless law enforcement work done by you and the entire Atlanta ICE office, and am of the opinion that setting an example by investigating and creating a case to be sent to the U.S. Attorney for prosecution will serve to discourage further disrespect for American laws.
Respectfully,

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 10, 2006
D.A. King, president of the Dustin Inman Society, will be available to the media to respond to recent remarks made by the former Atlanta Mexican Consul General, Teodoro Maus, at a recent march at the Georgia Capitol in a demand for dignity, legalization and the right to vote in the United States for illegal aliens.
King will also make several announcements concerning recent efforts by the Dustin Inman Society to encourage law enforcement authorities and local elected officials in the United States to enforce existing law.
When/Where: Noon – 1:00PM, Wednesday, October 11, 2006 in the Rotunda, Georgia Capitol, Atlanta Georgia.
King notes that Maus, a Mexican citizen and reportedly in the U.S. on a visa, is encouraging illegal aliens to remain in the United States, a federal crime and a deportable offense under Title 8 USC 1324* and current immigration regulations.
*Encouraging/Inducing — Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv) makes it an offense for any person who — encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law.
*Conspiracy/Aiding or Abetting — Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(v) expressly makes it an offense to engage in a conspiracy to commit or aid or abet the commission of the foregoing offenses.
Mr. King will take questions from the media.
With a focus on Georgia, The Dustin Inman Society is dedicated to educating the American public and elected officials on the consequences of illegal immigration, our un-secured borders and the breakdown of the rule of law in our republic.
The organization was named in memory of Dustin Inman, a sixteen-year-old boy from Woodstock, Georgia, one of the thousands of Americans who have lost their lives as a result of our intentionally unsecured borders and illegal immigration.

Texas Sheriffs Say Terrorists Entering US from Mexico
By Kevin Mooney
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
August 21, 2006
(CNSNews.com) – The chief law enforcement officers of several Texas counties along the southern U.S. border warn that Arabic-speaking individuals are learning Spanish and integrating into Mexican culture before paying smugglers to sneak them into the United States. The Texas Sheriffs’ Border Coalition believes those individuals are likely terrorists and that drug cartels and some members of the Mexican military are helping them get across the border.
Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez of Zapata County, Texas told Cybercast News Service that Iranian currency, military badges in Arabic, jackets and other clothing are among the items that have been discovered along the banks of the Rio Grande River. The sheriff also said there are a substantial number of individuals crossing the southern border into the U.S. who are not Mexican. He described the individuals in question as well-funded and able to pay so-called “coyotes” – human smugglers – large sums of money for help gaining illegal entry into the U.S.
Although many of the non-Mexican illegal aliens are fluent in Spanish, Gonzalez said they speak with an accent that is not native.
“It’s clear these people are coming in for reasons other than employment,” Gonzalez said
.
That sentiment is shared by Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.).
“For years, Muslims and other ‘Special Interest Aliens’ from places other than Mexico have been streaming into the U.S. across our porous border,” Tancredo told Cybercast News Service. “These people are not paying $50,000 or more a head just to ‘take jobs no American will do.’
“Terrorists are working round the clock to infiltrate the United States,” he added. “Congress and this administration must address this gaping hole in our national security and they must do it now.”
PLEASE read the rest.
Terrorists coming in from Mexico? Naww…it could never happen. Right?

Latinos embrace Islam
Islam gaining popularity with Latinos
By Mark Petix, Staff Writer

CHINO – When the sun finally sets and the fast of Ramadan ends for the day, Luqman Malik joins the faithful at the Baitul Hameed Mosque for a feast of chicken, rice, potatoes.
And Mexican food.
Islam is a tapestry, says Imam Shamshad A. Nasir, a religion that attracts men and women of many cultures.
More Latinos are embracing the faith, said Hussam Ayloush, a Corona man who is spokesman for the Southern California chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. While he has has no exact numbers, he said the shift is clear.
“Go to the mosque in downtown L.A. and you’ll see a large number of Latinos,” he said. “People are seeking a place where they feel the spirit of peace.”
He said they are willing to make sacrifices to find that peace.
That includes Latinos like Malik, a Catholic by birth who found solace in Islam in the days after Sept. 11, 2001.
He was in college, and didn’t like the way his Muslim friends were being treated.
“People were saying they were not good people,” he said. “That’s not true.”
It made him want to learn more about Islam, and he found himself drawn to its teachings and traditions. After much study and thought, the 26-year-old Chino man decided to convert.
