A way to stop illegal immigration?
Eliminate the borders…they are merely barriers to increased profit.
Below from Tom DeWeese….NEWS WITH VIEWS.com
âConspiracy theories.â âFringe nuts.â âLies.â âMyths.â These are the words being used by officials of the Bush Administration and others to brand those who have reported on the activities of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), currently operating out of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Opponents have charged the SPP will result in the establishment of a North American Union, much on the same lines as the European Union.
In response to its critics, the SPP has added a âSPP Myths Vs Factsâ section to its website at www.SPP.gov. According to the âMyths Vs Factsâ document the SPP is simply a âdialogâ among the three countries to âenhance prosperity.â It goes on to say the SPP is not an agreement, nor is it a treaty. It says âno agreement was ever signed.â
The truth is, on March 23, 2005, President Bush met at his ranch in Crawford, Texas with Vicente Fox and Paul Martin (then PM of Canada) in what they called a Summit. The three heads of state then drove to Baylor University in Waco, where they issued a press release announcing their signing of an agreement to form the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP).
This year, on March 31, 2006, Bush. Fox and new Canadian PM, Stephen Harper met in Cancun, Mexico. This time their press release celebrated what they called the first anniversary of the SPP.
The use of the word âdialogâ is a carefully selected euphemism designed to make the SPP sound like an innocent discussion among friends. To admit that it is anything more would force the government to provide Constitutional justification for its actions.
Moreover, the SPP says it wonât change our court system or legislative process and that it respects the sovereignty of each nation. And, says the SPP Myths and Facts document, it strongly rejects the idea that it is creating a European Union-like structure.
That defense is almost laughable in light of the massive activity-taking place in the SPP office located in the Commerce Department.
First one must know that the European Union was also originally sold to the nations on the European continent as simply a trade and security framework. The idea, said proponents, was to create an economic structure to allow a combined European economy to compete with the United States and other economic powerhouses. Only a few years later nations were told they needed a common currency to provide seamless trade. At the same time, the working groups organizing the EU policy began to morph into what today has become a European Union parliament, which now is working to create a means of taxation, regulation of commerce and a court system.
I hope that you will read the entire article…for the new readers here, please see my recent AJC column on the coming [ if Bush, Fox and the ruling elite in corporate America is succesful] borderless continent here.

Adversaries Enjoy Sniping at Each Other
Latinos Challenge Perdue Statements

Four days ago, I wrote a blog about how some of the opposing advocates in the voter I.D. battle have developed an easy rapport with each other, in their off-duty moments.
The same cannot be said for activists in the fight over illegal immigration. They enjoy goading each other; but their relations are frosty at best.
Today’s immigrants’ rights press conference at the State Capitol attracted a visitor from the other side. D.A. King of the Dustin Inman Society appeared, camera in hand, and began taking photos of the assembled Latino and civil rights leaders.
Toward the end of the press conference, former Mexican Consul General Teodoro Maus turned from the microphone to address King, who was still taking pictures. Maus asked King if he wanted a turn at the podium.
According to King, the exchange went like this:
Maus (smiling): “Do you want to speak?”
King (smiling back): “I would be glad to.”
Maus: “We’re out of time.”
King: “You’re just teasing me.”
Maus: “No, really. Time is up.”

Amnesty and the Welfare State
September 18, 2006
Last week I spoke about simple steps Congress should take to address the problem of illegal immigration. Simple, however, does not mean easy. While the American people are demanding real immigration reform, many in Washington lack the political will to do what is required.
Thatâs why Iâve joined my colleagues in the House Immigration Reform caucus in demanding legislation this year that focuses on securing physical control of our borders while rejecting amnesty in any form. Congress has taken notice, and took an important first step last week by passing the Secure Fence Act of 2006– legislation that provides physical security by lengthening border walls and creating a virtual border fence that extends thousands of miles.
But many Senators, Representatives, and administration officials remain committed to pursuing amnesty in some form. The dictionary defines amnesty as a general pardon for offenders by a government, and most of the immigration reform proposals in both chambers of Congress certainly meet that definition. Millions of people who broke the law by entering, staying, and working in our country will not be punished, but rather rewarded with a visa and ultimately citizenship. This is amnesty, plain and simple. Lawbreakers are given legal status, while those seeking to immigrate legally face years of paperwork and long waits for a visa.
What message does this send to the rest of the world? If we reward millions who came here illegally, surely millions more will follow suit. Ten years from now we will be in the same position, with a whole new generation of lawbreakers seeking amnesty.
The immigration problem fundamentally is a welfare state problem. Some illegal immigrants– certainly not all– receive housing subsidies, food stamps, free medical care, and other forms of welfare. This alienates taxpayers and breeds suspicion of immigrants, even though the majority of them work very hard. Without a welfare state, we would know that everyone coming to America wanted to work hard and support himself. Since we have accepted a permanent welfare state, however, we cannot be surprised when some freeloaders and criminals are attracted to our shores. Welfare muddies the question of why immigrants want to come here.
Illegal immigrants also threaten to place a tremendous strain on federal social entitlement programs. Successive administrations support so-called âtotalizationâ agreements that allow millions of illegal immigrants to qualify for Social Security and other programs- programs that already threaten financial ruin for America in the coming decades. Adding millions of foreign citizens to the Social Security, Medicare, and disability rolls will only hasten the inevitable day of reckoning. Social Security is in serious trouble already, and sending benefits abroad to millions of illegal aliens who once worked here will cost hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars. Every American who hopes to collect Social Security someday should stridently oppose totalization and amnesty proposals.
The problems associated with illegal immigration will not be solved overnight, but we cannot begin to address them until we take the hard steps of securing the borders, rejecting amnesty, and reclaiming our right as a sovereign nation to control immigration without apology.
Get some popcorn, get comfortable for about 20 minutes and watch the recently produced documentary on “fighting 529”. [ They mean the bill – SB 529 – authored by state Senator Chip Rogers and signed by Governor Perdue that makes Georgia very unattractive to illegal immigration and employment.]
For those of you who have been asking “who is Jerry Gonzalez“?….here is a good opportunity to see.
There was a press confrence today at the Georgia Capitol…a lot of the usual suspects were there.
I went and watched.

Groups demand Perdue retract immigration statements

ATLANTA – Hispanic and black leaders on Monday called for Gov. Sonny Perdue to retract statements about illegal immigrants made last week during the announcement of a statewide crackdown on false documentation.
Gathered underneath the rotunda at the state Capitol, labor advocates and civil rights leaders said the governor and other lawmakers are unfairly targeting immigrants as a ploy to get re-elected.
During a news conference last week, Gov. Perdue said, “It is simply unacceptable for people to sneak into this country illegally on Thursday, obtain a government-issued ID on Friday, head for the welfare office on Monday and cast a vote on Tuesday,” according to a transcript provided by Perdue’s press office.
The Coordinating Council of Community Leaders, who organized the rally at the Capitol, delivered to the governor’s office Monday a letter blasting Perdue’s comments.
“We are distraught that … statements made last week will only increase the climate of suspicion around Latino immigrants and increase racial profiling,” says the letter, signed by council members Teodoro Maus and Adelina Nicholls.
Perdue said he has no plan to apologize for criticizing illegal immigration.
“I won’t apologize for criminal activity,” Perdue said

Al-Qaida warns Muslims: Time to get out of U.S.
Afghan terror commander hints at big attack on N.Y., Washington

The new al-Qaida field commander in Afghanistan is calling for Muslims to leave the U.S. â particularly Washington and New York â in anticipation of a major terror attack to rival Sept. 11, according to an interview by a Pakistani journalist.
Abu Dawood told Hamid Mir, a reporter who has covered al-Qaida and met with Osama bin Laden, the attack is being coordinated by Adnan el-Shukrijumah and suggests it may involve some form of weapon of mass destruction smuggled across the Mexican border.
“Our brothers are ready to attack inside America. We will breach their security again,” he is quoted as saying. “There is no timeframe for our attack inside America; we can do it any time.”
As WND has previously reported, el-Shukrijumah is a trained nuclear technician and accomplished pilot who has been singled out by bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri to serve as the field commander for the next terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
The terrorist was last seen in Mexico, where, on Nov. 1, 2004, he allegedly hijacked a Piper PA Pawnee cropduster from Ejido Queretaro near Mexicali to transport a nuclear weapon and nuclear equipment into the U.S., according to Paul Williams, a former FBI consultant and author of “The Dunces of Doomsday.”
The rest here…
Fast Fact: A strategy of attrition through enforcement could reduce the illegal population by as many as 1.5 million illegal aliens each year. Currently about 183,000 illegal aliens per year depart without the intervention of immigration officials, according to DHS statistics.
What is “attrition by enforcement”?
It is the concept that if we were to elect a government that would secure our borders and actually enforce our employment and immigration laws, illegal aliens would not be drawn to the U.S., would have a very difficult time entering our Republic illegally and would begin to self-deport… as Ceser Chavez realized, wages would begin to go up so that people in America could earn a living wage.
It is your basic “no-brainer”.
Read more here.
Enforcement works…as has been proven by all too few examples of recent enforcement.
We should remenber this: Real immigrants who are in the U.S. legally have no fear of work place enforcement and do not need fraudulaent documents to obtain a driver’s license or a job. Only illegal aliens do.

I sent this to Russ Bynam here in Georgia [ RBynum@AP.org ] this morning in response to his Friday AP report on law enforcement in Stillmore Georgia. I also sent a copy of my note to Bynum’s editor in Atlanta, Barry Bedlan. [ BBedlan@AP.org ]
The AP report went to more than 80 news outlets all over the world. See here for complete article.
More on this one soon.
Russ, in its final [edited?] form, your report on Stillmore has set a new low for reporting on illegal immigration and law enforcement. Congrats, you are now very well-known among people who pay attention. The bar you have moved is one that many of us didn’t think could be lowered much further.
While it is still early, so far no one I know can point to a “news” report on the issue that contains less balance or a more clearly demonstrated agenda. It is somewhat disconcerting to have such able competition in editorial – commentary writing.
Here is a link to the SPJ code of ethics. Remember that?
Smooth how you worked in the “This reminds me of what I read about Nazi Germany, the Gestapo coming in and yanking people up...” quote, BUT…FYI… the too seldom enforcement of ID, employment and immigration laws involved here is very much like they do it in…Mexico.
In a word…yuck.

Below is part of a Federation for American Immigration Reform [FAIR] news letter on what is going on in Washington D.C.
The weather is getting cooler in D.C. and that means Congress is beginning to pull the wool over the American public’s eyes. On Thursday, September 14, 2006, House Leadership gathered for a press conference announcing their “Border Security Now” agenda for September. The Secure Fence Act 2006 passed the same day as item number one on that agenda. House Republicans learned from their hearings over the summer that the American public is overwhelmingly in favor of border security and ending illegal immigration. House Leadership believes that picking up border security will pay off in the November elections and keep Republicans in the majority. They are moving forward with many initiatives to secure the border. FAIR applauds the House for starting out and completing the first mile in a 26 mile race.
HOWEVER, danger is just under the surface. FAIR has learned from highly credible Hill sources that these border security efforts are helping the House grease the skids for a “very probable” guest worker amnesty program for the lame duck session beginning November 13. Members of Congress are planning on moving a guest worker bill in a time where they will be the furthest from the next electionâŠright after this coming election. Acting in a lame duck session allows members to get the best of both worlds. To appease the public and get reelected, they will pass border security. To appease big business, they will pass a guest worker program after the elections. When will enforcement of our immigration laws come into play? Nobody knows.
FAIR wants to get the American public aware of this political shell gameâa little enforcement in return for a massive guest worker amnesty. We will support the House’s efforts for the “Border Security Now” agenda, but we must also expose efforts to cater to big business interestsâinterests that are diametrically opposed to what the American people really want.
You can contact FAIR here.
You can contact the U.S. Representatives and Senators from Georgia here: [ scroll down].
If it is amnesty- again, it is the end of our borders, our rule of law and our common language.
It is the end of our nation.
A letter to the editor in The Daily News Journal, Tennessee
Illegal immigrants receive government welfare
To the editor,
I recently tried to renew my son’s TennCare and was told that suddenly my husband and I make too much money. My husband works for himself and he has no medical insurance. I work as a substitute teacher and I have no medical insurance. We have no insurance because we cannot afford independent insurance. My son is supposed to be covered by his father but is not, so I have to find a way to provide it. I do not receive child support, either, so my son’s stepdad and I provide as much as we can for him.
I am an American citizen, my father was a Vietnam veteran, I pay taxes and I have a Social Security number and a valid driver’s license.
I have been to the Department of Human Services in Murfreesboro at least three times in the past 12 months, and I have seen at least 20 illegal immigrants who do not have Social Security numbers, jobs and who do not pay taxes.
I know this information because we are all in a big room like cattle and we are all asked to fill out the same paperwork, which requires everyone’s Social Security number in your family of whom you need benefits for.
Let me tell you what these people receive: food stamps, free child care, Families First and TennCare.
Does anyone see something wrong here?
