Mundo Hispanico article on Zamarripa bank protest
State Senator Zamarripa profits from illegal aliens!”, “Does $am get paid per Illegal Alien?” ”, “This bank makes loans the illegal aliens!”, “Secure our borders! No Amnesty!”, said some of the placards that about twenty demonstrators carried in a protest front of Banco Unido (United Americas Bank) of Roswell, carried out July 23, 2005....
D.A. King is an extremist who does not understand the banking system”, said senator Zamarripa. “Why does he not protest before Bank of America, or Home Bank, or the other banks that function equally? ”, he asked. “I believe that because he is afraid that they demand it. In reality, to us it is not important.”.
Jorge Forment, president of the United Bank, that makes loans to whom present a number of tax identification ITIN (Tax you GO) and they comply certain requirements, said that does not have a lot of knowledge on the organization of King, but that knows that its political agenda includes the refusal to the immigration of those lacking identity papers....
The problem, King as says is that who they help lack identity papers and they are infringing the laws of the nation. “They are motivating the illegal aliens to remain in this country”, he mentioned secure borders....
The United Bank and the senator Zamarripa are not the only objectives of the protests of King and other activists. For them it splits of the problem of the “illegal immigration” is the fault of the government. “I believe that the U.S. president is in violation of his oath of office to refuse to secure the the borders or to comply with the laws of employment and immigration”, he said King, who he assures that he is not racist and that does not consider that in this theme the ethnic origin is a topic.
Kathy Inman, who participated in the protest of July 23, says that shedecided to join with the demonstration to ask the government to do its work. “They have to put more people in the borders to avoid that the illegal’s not continue coming. My son would be alive today if the government had done its work, therefore I blame the government”, indicated Inman, whose son Dustin died in a caused accident five years ago by Gonzalo Harrell-González, a Mexican lacking identity papers, in Ellijay, Georgia. The woman, after the accident was five weeks in a coma, considers that the presence of those lacking identity papers is negative for the country....
In turn Billy Inman, husband of Kathy Inman, is not for giving the licenses for those lacking identity papers. “The one that killed my son had a valid license from N. Carolina and has not yet been located. It hurts us that our system has paid for the birth of his son and that they cannot find him”, expressed Inman. Billy Inman considers that one must establish a difference between the legal immigration and “illegal”...
“There are two ways to stop the illegal immigration and they are not very difficult. We have to demand that our borders be as secure as those of Mexico and to punish the criminal employers who are hiring illegal workers”, expressed King.... “Is obvious that come because they can make more money. But they are still criminals. If they pass the border illegally and they work for those that pay them in cash, or if they use false social security numbers, they are criminals… and they are guilty”, King asserted.
