Summary:

“The people who think the GOP will fight Obama on immigration in the new year are the sort of people who think pro wrestling is real.”

“The people who think the GOP will fight Obama on immigration in the new year are the sort of people who think pro wrestling is real.”

#— Political commentator and talk show host Laura Ingraham on the refusal of the Republican-controlled House to confront Obama on his executive immigration amnesty in the year-end omnibus funding bill

#In full agreement with the above zinger, a prediction for 2015: After much posturing, and false moves on legislation that Obama will never sign into law, Establishment Republicans will allow Obama’s amnesty to advance, perhaps expand it and attempt to reward their business masters with continued low wages for workers by moving to increase the influx of foreign labor.

#This would have been written sooner, but like all pro-enforcement conservatives, I first had to struggle to remove the political knife from my back.

#For now, and just as the politicians calculated, the angry calls to congressional offices about passing the 1,600-page, trillion dollar Boehner/Obama “CRomnibus” have subsided and the Republicans who now rule both the U.S. Senate and House are confident that their betrayal will soon fade from voters’ memories.

#The bill passed the Republican controlled House by two votes.

#As a reminder and for the record: The Republicans from Georgia’s U.S. House delegation who voted for passage are Dr. Tom Price, Dr. Phil Gingrey, Rob Woodall, Jack Kingston, Doug Collins, Lynn Westmoreland and Tom Graves.

#Feel free to expand your at-home list of “Establishment Republicans” — I have.

#Many observers, this one included, are of the opinion that Rep. Woodall captured the attitude of all of the above and illustrated quite brilliantly that “the fix was in” with his quote reported by Breitbart News that he “won’t find a single constituent back home who will support the bill.” This, shortly before he voted “yes” on passage, and about the time about a dozen pro-enforcement protesters were gathered in his Gwinnett County District office. Here is hoping more Georgia congressional representatives see more protesters at more of their district offices.

#Despite repeated promises of never requiring members to vote on bills without a 72-hour period to actually read them, the CRomnibus bill was passed about 48 hours after being released — unread.

#Why were Republican Speaker John Boehner, President Barack Obama, untold numbers of special interest lobbyists — including those who work for Grover Norquist — all feverishly working the phones to insure passage of the porky “CRomnibus?”

#If your answer is that they were all struggling to protect the American Dream for working Americans, you may be as easily fooled as they assume.

#My own conclusion is that on most issues, especially immigration and wages, everyday Americans would be much better served if they simply recognize that the fight isn’t so much between Republicans and Democrats but is actually the ruling, donor class vs. the American middle class.

#All of this comes surrounded by news from the southern border that the latest — and rapidly growing — wave of illegal crossers is increasingly more aggressive and violent. Entire families, usually described by the press as “children” are again flooding the shelters in Texas built to house the border crossers who are quite logically responding to Obama’s siren call of eventual amnesty. These numbers will increase as the weather improves.

#Look for the House to soon float a “border security” diversionary bill, which should be recognized for what it is: A bill that says we might enforce the laws that congress already passed.

#A few years ago, this writer watched — multiple times — as screaming illegal aliens led by the ACLU/identity politics mob et al took over the downtown area around the Gold-Domed Capitol of Georgia with foreign-language promises that “we won’t obey your laws and we won’t leave!” Most of those illegal aliens are now officially protected by Obama and the Establishment GOP. And unless a spine is quickly sprouted in congressional offices, they will soon receive work permits and real Social Security Numbers — and unless preventive state action is taken, Georgia drivers licensees.

#Don’t expect any penalty for them when they defiantly admit use of stolen and fake ID in the pre-GOP-cave-in past.

#But, dear reader, have cheer. There is a bit of good news buried in the Obama/Republican funding bill. It says that members of Congress cannot access more than $1,000 a month as a car lease allowance.

#Maybe that law will be enforced?
